Early Childhood Caries (EEC)

Early childhood caries is a preventable disease that left untreated increases in severity, causing pain and a strong, long lasting effect on a child's overall health.  Therefore, all children should have a dental home by age one to reduce EEC.

A dental home provides preventive education to the child's caregiver in how to prevent and reduce EEC through providing information about proper brushing and flossing, healthy diet and snacks, fluoride and preventive visits.

Research has shown that if a child does not have a preventive visit by age three they were more likely to need emergency and restorative care.

If a child has a dental home by age one there is an increased likelihood of having more preventive care and less restorative and emergency care

Call our office in Jupiter, Florida to schedule your child's initial exam by age one .    As a specialist in pediatric dentistry, dentistry for kids of all ages, our number one goal is preventive care through education.

Come Down for a Visit!

The layout and design of our dental office was carefully developed with your little ones in mind.  There is always something to keep the children occupied with in-ceiling TVs for watching movies, PlayStation2 video games and plenty of standard games, books and puzzles.

All of our patients will also be rewarded with a toy from our toy tower, stickers, tattoos and a toothbrush. Be sure to ask about participating with our on-going mural project under construction with the assistance of Go Van Gogh!

About the Dentist | Dr. Jason Wanuck

Dr. Wanuck, or Dr. Jason as the children know him, is no stranger to Northern Palm Beach county.

Dr. Jason moved to the area in 1974 and attended the Benjamin School and Palm Beach Gardens high school. After a fantastic four years at Florida State University (go Noles!), Dr. Wanuck completed a BS degree in biological sciences. Upon graduation, he continued his schooling at the University of Florida where he completed his DMD degree in dentistry.

The Wanuck Family

After a one year advanced education in general dentistry residency (AEGD) in Jacksonville, Florida, Dr. Wanuck returned to Jupiter and practiced as a general dentist for three years. It was at this time that he discovered his passion for providing care to children and decided to return to school to complete an additional two year pediatric dental residency at Nova Southeastern University and Miami Children’s Hospital.

The course was an intensive clinical program that concentrated on sedation and hospital dentistry, behavior management and a medical approach to preventing and managing dental disease.  Dr. Wanuck is certified in PALS (Pediatric Advanced Life Support), a steadfast member of the American Academy of Pediatric Dentistry (www.aapd.org) and is currently working towards his board certification.

Even with a busy private office, Dr. Wanuck takes pride in the opportunity to develop a relationship with each child.

He aims to know them individually and enjoys the chance to interact with them.  Instilling confidence and trust with your child is his primary goal.

Dr. Wanuck and his wife Lara live in Jupiter and are proud parents to their sons Jack and Ryan. Free time is all about family.  Occaisonally, Dr. Jason finds  spare time to enjoy playing golf with friends, going to the beach, reading, travelling and rooting for the Seminoles, Marlins and Jaguars!
